If you haven’t already discovered, you shortly will, that during the job hunting process you are required to submit your information to multiple sites and job hunting platforms. The more platforms you toss your information over to, the more spam emails start to show up in your inbox, and spam can drown out the good stuff- stuff like job offers or contracting opportunities.

Enter Alcamine. It keeps your information safe, filters you job opportunities from other job hunting platforms, and keeps everything nice and organized based on your preferences.

Here are some step-by-step instructions on how to connect Alcamine to Hired, a job hunting platform for developers.

Once you have logged into your Alcamine account (don’t have one yet, click here to sign up!), find the tab along the top right labeled “Connect Boards.”

The more job boards you connect to, the more opportunities that will come your way!

Scroll down the page to the drop down labeled “Hired.” Here you will find some helpful instructions on how to link your accounts. Already have a Hired account up and running? Great, your next step will be an easy one.

I Already Have a Hired Account

If you already have a Hired account, head on over to Hired and login.

Hired01
Once you are in your account, hover over the drop down “Settings” menu and select “Log In Credentials.”
Hired02
Here you will be able to update your email address associated with your account. Grab your Alcamine email address and plug it in here. (You can always find your Alcamine email address under the “Connect Boards” tab on Alcamine.com in the top paragraph.) Select “Save Changes.”
Hired03
Woohoo- you’re all set to go. Emails from Hired will begin populating in your Alcamine Inbox on Alcamine.com.

Don’t have a Hired account yet? No problem, it’s easy to set up.

Next, you will be prompted to create your profile. If you already have a resume ready to go, upload it now. Hired will pull information to help speed along the process of populating your profile.

Hired05
Don’t worry, you will have a chance to review all of your profile information before submitting it to ensure everything is correct and nothing is missing.

Hired will take you through a series of questions, gathering information to populate your profile using both the resume you upload and the information you provide. This should take about 5 minutes. After you have gone through all of the questions, you have the ability to click on the pencils on the right of the screen to make any changes to your answers prior to submitting.

Once you have gone through your profile, go ahead and “Submit your profile for review” by clicking the red button on the right hand side. It will take Hired a day to review your profile and get it up and going.

Head back over to your Alcamine “Connect Board” and notice that Hired is now listed as “Connected.”

This means you have successfully linked the two accounts. Now all that is left to do is sit back, relax, and let the jobs come to you!
