Your job search can feel never ending and exhausting, especially right now. Alcamine can help! Alcamine narrows down your search, keeps your inbox clean of job spam, and only shows you the jobs you want to see in your personal Alcamine inbox. In addition, you will only get one email a week from Alcamine, showing you updates from your inbox on your latest job search.
Keep in mind, not all job boards are created equal when it comes to the job opportunities you might be looking for. Monster is a mixed bag. It’s great for casting a wide net, but you will receive a lot of spam and random jobs. It’s worth having this set up just in case a recruiter with your dream job finds you though!
Below are some step-by-step instructions on how to connect Alcamine to Monster.
Once you have logged into your Alcamine account (don’t have one yet, click here to sign up!), find the tab along the top right labeled “Connect Boards.” The more job boards you connect to, the more opportunities that will come your way!
Scroll down the page to the drop down labeled “Monster.” Here you will find some helpful instructions on how to link your accounts. Already have a Monster account that you use? Great, your next step will be an easy one.
I Already Have a Monster Account
If you already have a Monster account, head on over to Monster and login. Once you’re in your account, hover over your photo and name icon in the top right hand corner.
Select “My Profile” from the dropdown. Here you will be able to change and update your email address associated with your account. Select “Edit” on the left hand side beneath your photo and name.
This will take you to the next page where you can view your contact information. Under your name in the Email Address section, select “Edit.”
Under “Account Settings” in the “Change Email Address” column, select “Edit.”
Here you can update your email address to your Alcamine address. Select “Update Email.” You’ve now successfully linked your Monster account to your Alcamine inbox.
Don’t have a Monster account yet? Setting one up is quick and simple.
I Need a Monster Account
Head on over to Monster.com. In the center of the screen, you have a few different options to sign up: Facebook, a Gmail account, or inputting your email and password separately. We are going to input an email address and password separately. Input your Alcamine email address and password of your choice, then select “Register.”
Next, you will be prompted to create your portfolio. They will ask for your personal information and once you have completed this select “Next.”
You have the option to upload an already created resume or build one on Monster. If you choose to upload your resume, Monster will save it under your resume tab on the website. Don’t worry, you can skip this step if you don’t yet have a completed resume and upload it at a later time.
Great, you’re all set. You can now review all of your information, ensuring that everything is correct and ready to go by visiting your “Profile” page, which can be found on the dropdown menu by clicking on your photo icon and name in the right hand corner.
Here you can also go in and add or “Edit” any information.
Once you have completed your profile with as much information as you would like, head back over to Alcamine.com. Go to the “Connect Board” and notice that Monster is now listed as “Connected.” This means you have successfully linked the two accounts.
Monster will now send you emails listing jobs that match your interests. Check your Alcamine inbox often, and let those jobs come to you!
