During the job hunting process most jobs you apply to will require that you submit your information - information you might rather they didn’t have. The more platforms you give your information to, the more spam emails will show up in your inbox. Not only are those spam emails frustrating to scroll through and delete, they can also crowd your inbox, increasing your chances of missing a real job opportunity related email.
This is where Alcamine comes in. It keeps your information safe, filters you job opportunities from other job hunting platforms, and keeps everything nice and organized so you don’t have to.
Keep in mind, not all job boards are created equal when it comes to the job opportunities you might be looking for. We have found that ZipRecruiter isn’t always the best platform to find tech related jobs, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t create an account and link it!
Here are some step-by-step instructions on how to connect Alcamine to ZipRecruiter, a widely used job hunting site.
Once you have logged into your Alcamine account (don’t have one yet, click here to sign up!), find the tab along the top right labeled “Connect Boards.” The more job boards you connect to, the more opportunities that will come your way!
Scroll down the page to the drop down labeled “ZipRecruiter.” Here you will find some helpful instructions on how to link your accounts. Already have a ZipRecruiter account up and running? Great, your next step will be an easy one.
Already Have a ZipRecruiter Account
If you already have a ZipRecruiter account, head on over to ZipRecruiter and login. Once you’re in your account, go to your “Profile” page. Here you will be able to update your email address associated with your ZipRecruiter account. Click “Edit” above the “Contact Information” box. Grab your Alcamine email address and update your email address. Select “Save.” Great, now you are all set to go! Emails from ZipRecruiter will begin populating in your Alcamine inbox.
Don’t have a ZipRecruiter account yet? Setting one up is quick and simple.
I Need a ZipRecruiter Account
Go to ZipRecruiter and on the left hand side input your full name and your Alcamine email address, then select “Get Started.”
Next, you will be prompted to create your portfolio. If you already have a resume ready to go, upload it now. ZipRecruiter will use your uploaded resume to pull your information. If not, you can input your job information piece by piece.
After you have completed uploading your past job information, ZipRecruiter will take you through a short questionnaire. Go ahead and answer the questions accordingly, skipping ones you don’t want to answer by clicking the “Skip” in the right hand corner.
Make sure that you set your profile to “Actively Looking.” This will help recruiters and employers easily find your profile.
Go ahead and finish your set up, completing their questionnaire and finish inputting your information. Feel free to visit your “Profile” page in order to add any additional information or make changes.
ZipRecruiter will send an email to your Alcamine email address in order to verify the account.

ZipRecruiter allows you to create a very dynamic profile, including an executive statement, a detailed resume, and the ability to list your skills. In addition, you can specify what salary, position, and location you are searching for a job. Including this information will help to narrow down the jobs that are sent to your Alcamine inbox, so we recommend taking a moment to fill out as much of your profile information as possible.
Once you have completed your profile, head back over to Alcamine. Go to the “Connect Board” and notice that ZipRecruiter is now listed as “Connected.” This means you have successfully linked the two accounts.
ZipRecruiter will now send you emails listing jobs that match your interests. Check your Alcamine inbox often, and let those jobs come to you!
